David Roy, Director of Safety and Flight Operations

Dave has over 20 years of experience in the collegiate flight training environment. Prior to joining Guidance Aviation, Dave was the Director of Flight Operations for Allen Corporation of America.  His previous work experience includes several positions held at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott Campus starting in 1989 where he was a Flight Instructor. He went on to manage Aviation Safety, Flight Academics, Contract Training and Flight Standards.

In 1991, Dave took a sabbatical to complete a graduate internship, with the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum  primarily assisting in the restoration of the B-29, the Enola Gay.

In 2002, Dave volunteered at the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games at the Snowbasin Resort in Utah where he helped coordinate support personnel for the Alpine Ski Events at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.

In 2003, Dave created the Prescott Air Fair Association, a non-profit 501 (c)3 organiztion which began producing local air shows.  He is past president of the Prescott EAA Chapter 658.  In 2005 Dave was awarded an Air Medal from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) for significant contribution to the progress of Aeronautics and Astronautics in connection with the FAI Education Commission.

Dave and his wife Kendall own a 1947 Cessna 140 airplane.
